As far as Indian Summers go this one has to go down in the record books as one of the all-time greats.  Hopefully, you've been enjoying some of the best golfing weather of the entire year.

This is the time of the year PGA Tour pros start testing new equipment.  Although, they're nearing the off-season the pros are looking at new equipment they can put into play to hit the ground running and they'll have the confidence that their new equipment will perform for them.  You should be doing the same thing.  Don't wait until the next golf season starts before you make changes to your equipment and game.  This will only delay getting a jump on 2009.  Why not stop by the shop to discuss changes you may be considering and explore the many options you have for improvement.

Golf Myth #12 Custom fit golf clubs are for really good players.

The truth is exactly the reverse of that.

Pros and really good amateur players have the skill to use just about any club put in their hands to shoot a low score.  Think about Tiger and how he could play with any set of clubs he picks up.

You, on the other hand, need a properly fit set of clubs to maximize your swing strengths and minimize your swing errors.  This doesn't mean you can spend a great deal of money on a new equipment andn instantly become a better golfer.  What it does mean is this: With the correct length, lie, loft weight, grip size, shaft flex, and balance you can improve your chances to execute better golf shots and this will result in greater enjoyment of our great game.

Custom fitting means having clubs with the right design characteristics of the clubhead, shaft and grip to match your swing.  These clubs are assembled to maintain essentially the same swing throughout the set, yet give predictably different distance and trajectory results because of the way each club is designed and builty.

This is the essence of clubmaking and design.  Unfortunately, that almost never happens because few golfers ever do more in their search for their perfect golf clubs than drive to the local golf store and purchase something that looks like what the pros are playing.

The average golfer could likely save five to six strokes by realizing a golf club is not a "club" at all.  In reality, it is a precision designed instrument that can provide the golfer with much pleasure if it is fit ot the swing of the golfer using it.

At Man O' War Golf, we have the expertise to meet any golfers' needs regardless of their skill.  If you'll visit us, we can help you improve your score, which will result in greater enjoyment.  Think about it!

While you're in our shop remember to pick up a free copy of Tom Wishon's book, "12 Myths That Could Wreck Your Golf Game".  It's a quick read and a real eye opener to most golfers.  Return your copy and get 10% off any precision fit club order.
